When the app is first opened, it takes a few seconds for the app to populate the map with 27,000+ data points (US app).

The map will open in the middle of the US the first time you open it; in subsequent openings it will open where it was when you last closed it.

To get the map to show your location, tap the Locator button near the upper left of the map:

The Locator button will change to orange and the map will jump to your current position. Whenever the button is orange, it is tracking your location.

The app uses a clustering function so as to not overcrowd the map with icons.

Zooming in will cause the clusters to open up to smaller clusters and/or the individual icons.

Zooming in even more will open the clusters to reveal all the campground icons.

Tapping on a camppground icon will cause a pop-up to appear with basic details about that location.

To see more details about a camppground, tap the "View Details" button in the location's pop-up Comments bubble.

Other map types are available by tapping on the Maps icon near the upper right of the map. This is the Satellite view which is very useful for scoping out campsites.

When you tap on the Maps button, it will open to show the three types of maps from which you can choose.

If you are a back-country type of person, you will find the Topographical map view quite useful.

You can save any location to a Favorites list to which you can refer any time. To show your Favorites on the map screen, tap the "Refresh Favorites on Map" button. The Favorites list is organized alphabetically by state and then campground type.

So having found a campground, how do you get there? Tapping the Routing icon on either the Details or Favorites page will link you to Google Maps which will offer a route to you.

Note that you can have your Favorites show on the map with a heart beneath the campground icon.
