Our apps for Android devices have been released and are available in the Google Play Store. Here are some screenshots that highlight features of the apps.
When the app is first opened, it takes a few seconds for the app to populate the map with 25,000+ data points (US app). The map will then zoom in centered on your location.
The app uses a clustering function so as to not overcrowd the map with icons.
Zooming in will cause the cluster to open up to smaller clusters and/or the individual icons.
Tapping on a camppground icon will cause a pop-up to appear with basic details about that location.
Other map types are available by tapping on the Maps icon near the upper right of the map. This is the Satellite view.
If you are a back-country type of person, you will find the Topographical map view quite useful.
To see more details about a camppground, tap the "View Details" button.
You can save any location to a Favorites list to which you can refer any time.
The Icons and Abbreviations page gives you a list of the icons and abbbreviations used in the app.
Here are the rest of the icons used.
So having found a campground, how do you get there? Tapping the Routing icon on either the Details or Favorites page will link you Google Maps.
Tap the Start Navigation button to review your route. After review, tap the Resume button to begin the navigation process.
Here are a couple of screenshots from a 10" tablet.
